Our Story

"A Piece of Paper" – The Love Story of JM and Pat

It all started in a quiet classroom during their sophomore year of high school. JM, needing a piece of paper for class, turned to the girl beside him—Patricia. With a shy voice, he asked, “Can I borrow a piece of paper?”

Without hesitation, Pat smiled gently and handed him one. “You’re welcome,” she said softly.

That simple phrase, said in the sweetest voice JM had ever heard, struck something deep within him. It was such a small moment, but for JM, it was unforgettable. From that day forward, he couldn't stop thinking about Patricia. Her voice lingered in his mind, and her smile kept popping into his thoughts. JM knew then—he wanted to court her.

He mustered up the courage and told Patricia how he felt. But Patricia, unsure and cautious, didn’t allow him to court her. JM was heartbroken but not discouraged. He was determined. Day after day, he continued to chat with her, text her, and kindly ask for her permission to court her.

He didn’t give up.

His persistence wasn’t annoying—it was sincere. He didn’t pressure her, but he stayed present, showing her every day how serious he was. Slowly, his dedication began to touch Patricia’s heart.

Then, on December 6, 2011, Patricia finally said yes.

From that moment, everything changed. They weren’t just classmates anymore. They were partners, soulmates, a love story that began with a simple favor and bloomed into something lasting.

And the rest, as they say, is history.
